Glohaze is our first stop for everyday makeup on a budget. A focused selection of kajal, lip colour, base products and brushes can be easier to navigate than a long list of launches. If you want more shade choices or a particular manufacturer’s formula, this guide also compares nine makeup brands available in India, from Lakmé and Maybelline to Kay Beauty.
The useful question is not simply “Which beauty brand is number one?” It is “Which option fits my budget, my shade and the look I want?” Below, you will find what each option offers, what to check before buying and a practical way to build your first few essentials.
1. Glohaze: start here for curated everyday basics
Glohaze brings together everyday makeup and brushes with product pages, prices and guides that help you choose a smaller, more purposeful kit. Start with picks priced at Rs.199 or less, browse makeup under Rs.300, or see Noor’s everyday six for a focused starting point. The price filters use current catalogue prices, so you can check what fits your budget without relying on an old price list.
Who it suits: beginners, students and shoppers who want to compare a few everyday basics by price and intended use. You can browse eyes, lips, face and base, and brushes, rather than buying a large kit before you know what you need.
Where to begin: a kajal pencil, one lip shade and a base product only if you want coverage. Add brushes for the products you actually use. These are real products from the Glohaze catalogue; the table below shows current catalogue sale prices and MRPs rather than fixed prices written into the article.
| Product | Price | Buy Now |
|---|---|---|
| Signature Kajal Eyeliner Pencil | ₹120 | Buy Now ↗ |
| Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick (Any 1 Shade) | ₹135 | Buy Now ↗ |
| 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer (24Hr Matte) | ₹250 | Buy Now ↗ |
| 5-Piece Essential Brush Set | ₹69 | Buy Now ↗ |
| Total | ₹574 |
Prices checked October 20, 2026 from the Glohaze catalogue. Final price at checkout may differ.
What to check: a focused catalogue does not replace the shade range or specialist formulas offered by every manufacturer. Read the product details, check the shade and label, and follow appropriate patch-testing guidance. An AI creator cannot confirm how a formula feels or wears on your skin.
How buying works: every Buy Now opens the matching product at our partner store. Glohaze does not take payment or fulfil orders. Final prices, availability, payment options, delivery and returns follow our partner store’s policies. For help narrowing down a product or shade, use the WhatsApp link at the end of this guide.

This is a makeup-focused guide, not a comparison of every skincare, haircare or fragrance brand. Manufacturer ranges and retailer offers change. We have not included fixed competitor price ranges because they can mix sizes, product lines and promotional prices and become misleading quickly.
How to use this comparison
We compare the options by shopping purpose, product range and the decisions a buyer needs to make. Brand background comes from the sources below; product examples are starting points for further research, not claims that we have personally tested them.
- Set a per-product budget: compare the final price of the exact shade and size, not a brand’s cheapest product against another brand’s premium range.
- Choose the category first: the brand you like for kajal does not have to be the brand you choose for foundation.
- Check the formula: matte, dewy, waterproof and long-wear are product-level descriptions, not guarantees for an entire brand.
- Check the seller: brand reputation alone does not establish the authenticity of a particular listing.
2. Lakmé: compare its everyday product lines
Lakmé’s roots go back to 1952, and Hindustan Unilever describes it as India’s first successful home-grown cosmetics brand. Its makeup selection includes Eyeconic kajal, Forever Matte, 9to5 and Absolute products.
Consider it for: everyday eye makeup, lip colour and base options. Check first: the specific line, shade and size. Two Lakmé foundations can serve different needs and sit at different price points; the shared brand name does not make them interchangeable.
3. Maybelline New York: explore base, mascara and lip colour
Maybelline New York is part of L’Oréal’s consumer products division. Product families available in India include Fit Me, Colossal, Super Stay and Lash Sensational.
Consider it for: comparing base formulas, mascaras and liquid lip colour. Check first: the exact variant. Fit Me products do not all have the same finish, and a long-wear lip formula may need a different remover from a creamy lipstick. Choose by the product description, not the brand name alone.
4. L’Oréal Paris: look closely at the formula
L’Oréal Paris is a beauty brand within the L’Oréal group. Its makeup includes Infallible base products and Color Riche lip colour, alongside eye makeup.
Consider it for: exploring foundation, concealer and lip formulas beyond your first budget kit. Check first: the finish, shade range and current price of the exact product. A long-wear claim on one Infallible formula should not be treated as a promise about every product in the range.
For help with base selection, read our foundation guide for Indian skin tones, including depth and undertone.
5. SUGAR Cosmetics: separate the main range from SUGAR POP
SUGAR Cosmetics was founded in 2015 by Vineeta Singh and Kaushik Mukherjee. Its range includes matte lip products and eye makeup, while SUGAR POP offers a separate set of products.
Consider it for: comparing matte lip colour, kajal and liners. Check first: whether you are looking at SUGAR or SUGAR POP, and what each exact formula offers. Compare like-for-like products before deciding which gives you better value.
6. Nykaa Cosmetics: distinguish the label from the retailer
Nykaa Cosmetics is Nykaa’s own makeup label. It is not the same thing as the full selection of independent brands sold by the Nykaa retailer. Its product families include So Creme! and Matte To Last lip colour, along with face and eye products.
Consider it for: browsing lip shades and everyday makeup within the retailer’s own range. Check first: the final price, shade and return conditions of the exact listing. Do not assume a discount on one shade applies to every shade or that a past promotion is still running.
7. Swiss Beauty: browse budget options product by product
Swiss Beauty was founded in 2013 and offers makeup across face, eyes and lips. Its catalogue includes concealers, eyeshadow palettes, compacts and lip colour.
Consider it for: comparing budget-led options for a first kit or a new colour. Check first: the range, shade, ingredient information and pack size. A broad selection can be useful, but buying one product at a time is more deliberate than choosing a large kit solely because of its discount.
8. Faces Canada: compare Magneteyes and Ultime Pro separately
Faces Canada is a brand of Canadian origin. Purplle announced the acquisition of its Indian business in December 2021. Its makeup includes the Magneteyes and Ultime Pro ranges.
Consider it for: kajal, eyeliner and everyday lip colour. Check first: the product line and finish. A familiar kajal name does not tell you how a different liner or mascara will perform, so read the individual description and application instructions.
9. Colorbar: choose a particular product, not a price tier
Colorbar was founded in India in 2004 by Samir Modi. Its makeup range includes lipstick, eyeliner and foundation, with options such as Velvet Matte lip colour and Aquafeel foundation.
Consider it for: comparing a specific lip shade or base formula against your existing favourites. Check first: whether the formula and size justify the cost for your routine. A higher price is not proof of better results on your skin.
10. Kay Beauty: compare single products with sets
Kay Beauty launched in 2019 through Katrina Kaif’s partnership with Nykaa. Its makeup selection includes eye products, lip colour and cheek colour.
Consider it for: exploring coloured eye makeup, blush and lip-and-cheek products. Check first: whether you need every item in a combo. A set is useful only if its shades and formulas suit you; one well-chosen product may be a better starting point.
Which option should you choose for your routine?
If your priority is keeping the spend low
Start with Glohaze’s Rs.199-and-under selection or basics under Rs.300, then compare specific manufacturer products if you need a shade or formula that is not in the catalogue. Count what you will actually use, not how many items a kit contains. Our makeup kit price guide helps you plan the categories before buying.
If your priority is base makeup
Choose by undertone, coverage and finish. Oily skin may prefer a matte finish, while dry skin may prefer a more comfortable, less matte formula, but no single brand suits everyone. Read the exact product description and seek shade help if you are unsure. Do not use makeup to conceal a skin reaction or assume “long-wear” means suitable for sensitive skin.
If you are a beginner
You do not need foundation, concealer, a large palette and setting spray all at once. Start with the few products that serve your everyday look and add categories when you need them. See how to build your first makeup kit and Noor’s everyday six for ideas.
If you are planning an occasion or a course kit
For a festive look, choose shades and finishes first, then check any product-specific wear claims. Our Diwali makeup looks can help you plan the colours. Beautician students can use the beautician course makeup kit list to compare their course requirements with what they already own.
Check the product and seller before you buy
- Choose a traceable seller: use the brand’s own channels or a retailer whose identity and policies you can verify. A very low price alone does not prove a product is counterfeit, and a high price does not prove it is genuine.
- Read the label: check manufacturer or importer information, applicable batch details and the use-before or expiry information. India’s Cosmetics Rules, 2020 set out labelling requirements and exceptions for some pack types.
- Inspect the item: if the packaging appears damaged, the seal is unexpectedly broken or the product does not match the listing, contact the seller before using it.
- Follow safety directions: read the label and any patch-testing guidance. Do not share eye makeup; stop using a product if it irritates you. For persistent irritation or a skin condition, ask a qualified clinician rather than relying on a brand comparison.
- Check checkout terms: on Glohaze, Buy Now opens our partner store. Verify the final product, price and order policies there before paying.
Our starting recommendation: explore Glohaze first for a focused, budget-led selection, and compare the other brands when you need a different shade range or formula. The aim is a kit you understand and use, not loyalty to one name at any cost.
